Borovyk Viktor was born on October 12, 1950 in Kamin-Kashyrskyi, Volyn region. He spent his childhood in villages Lychyny and Osivtsi. In 1957 his family moved to Siberia.
Later Viktor lived in Tatar, then in Novosibirsk. In 1957 Viktor`s father died and his mother brought up Viktor and his two older sisters by herself. In Viktor`s early childhood his mother accustomed all of her children to work and creativity. Viktor studied at musical school, where he played the clarinet, went with his mother and sisters to theaters (he liked opera and ballet most of all). After 8 years of high school he entered the Mechanical Dpt. at the Novosibirsk technical school. When he was a student Viktor created a vocal and instrumental ensemble, where he played the saxophone and drums. After graduation he entered the Novosibirsk Aviation Center (specialty - "helicopter pilot"). Then he continued his studies at the Cheliabynsk Higher School for air navigators. After graduating from college, he served as a lieutenant in the Precarpathian Military District. He flew on such aircrafts: IL-14, AN-8, AN-12. In 1988-1989 he served in Afghanistan (DRA). He retired in 1990.
Earlier at the school party in Novosibirsk Viktor met his future wife, Lyudmyla, with whom he has been maried for 38 years. Now he has a son, a daughter and beloved grandchildren: Masha, Dasha, Sonia, Maxym, Sasha and Dmytro. Currently, Viktor dedicates his live to creativity - painting, sculpture and theatrical performances.
The former pilot of Afghanistan 59-year-old Viktor Borovik is the only patient who has a workshop in the cardiology department of the Pavlov Kiev Psychiatric Hospital. His sculptures and oil paintings are exhibited in the museum of the history of the hospital.
